Digital Family Night




Attention middle level families! On March 20 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. join us in the Commons at Thunder Mountain Middle School for an interactive evening focusing on keeping kids safe online at school and home. The intention is to create an atmosphere where middle level students and parent/guardians are able to explore tools on the Chromebook together. Dinner for everyone and childcare for younger children is provided free of charge. The event features information for middle level families, but also applies to all students who are using Chromebooks. This event is open to all families in our District who have an interest in these topics.

What to bring:

  • your family members who have a keen interest in the topic
  • your children
  • your child's school issued Chromebook
  • your questions!

What to expect:

  • free pizza and dessert for the family from 6:00 - 6:30 pm
  • free childcare for younger kids begins at 6:15 pm
  • presentation for parents and middle level students starts at 6:30 pm
  • breakout sessions to follow presentation
  • event will conclude at 8:00 pm
  • Spanish-speaking interpreter

Content of presentations:

  • learn about Digital Citizenship in ESD
  • check out Google tools students are using
  • learn about security features and filters on all Chromebooks
  • practice tips & tricks for Chromebook monitoring
  • explore digital tools & resources for families that can be implemented at home
