Contributed by Meri C. Miller, EHS teacher of Agricultural Sciences, FFA Advisor, and WAHSET Advisor.

Our equestrian team took the Washington Association of High School Equestrian Teams (WAHSET) state championship for medium-sized schools this weekend in Pasco. This works kind of like gymnastics or wrestling where individuals compete in events and earn points toward the team's score. Our team is the state champion, but in addition, we have 3 individual state champions: L. Storer, in Trail, and C. Branson, in Steer Daubing, and K. Bergquist in pole bending.

R. Williams was the state Silver Medalist in hunt seat equitation, and R. Williams and K. Bergquist tied as Silver Medalists for Equitation Over Fences.

The entire team includes: L. Storer, C. Branson, E. Burrill, C. Wallace, K. Bergquist, R. Williams, K. Fish, A. Kratzer, C. Campbell, B. Hall, K. Elliott, K. Hoiland, K. Strunks, K. Milbrath, C. Clark, E. Neff, K. Willey, E. Holznagel and H. Leighton. I am their advisor and their coaches are Janet Milbrath, Dan McCallister and Craig Fish.
