Dear Parents,

Oh, how it snowed last week in our school district! I have no doubt that we won the prize for the most snow! It was unique to have Seattle television stations camped out in the parking lots of the Enumclaw Chamber of Commerce and Safeway. I am sure that many of you saw pictures on the news. They called our school district office routinely during those days. At times, I thought I was their new weatherman as they were asking me to make snow predictions!

On the days where we had to close, our schools had parent conferences scheduled. I have spent the last day talking with teachers and principals and have found that time is needed in order to fulfill conferences. In order to accommodate time for conferences, we need one early dismissal day. We will be changing our Friday dismissal time on December 10, 2010. Elementary students will be dismissed at 12:15 and secondary students will be dismissed at 11:15 on this day.

Also, as a result of the closures due to snow, we will now have school on May 27, June 16 and June 17. A complete school calendar with updated changes can be found on the district website at www.enumclaw.wednet.edu/ourdistrict/calendars.aspx.

I hope you and your family had a very happy Thanksgiving. Let's all hope that we had our winter weather during school days already!  J

Respectfully,

Mike Nelson

Superintendent
