INSTRUMENTAL PROGRAM - SOLO ENSEMBLE CONTEST

Thanks to all who helped run solo and ensemble Saturday, students and parents alike!  A great reflection of our region! 

EHS stats:
40 band students participated in Saturday's solo and ensemble (Another 40 students are in next week's orchestra solo/ensemble contest)
25 actual solos or ensembles
22 SUPERIOR RATINGS of the 25...wow!

The judges have the very difficult task of taking all the 1's that they give in a day and coming up with a winner, 1st alternate and 2nd alternate.

The winners who will represent us at STATE are:
S. Horn, Tuba
K. Watson, Euphonium/Baritone Horn
T. Horn, Snare Drum
Z. Bainter, Bass Clarinet

1st alternates are:

GYMNASTICS TEAM

Congratulations to our Gymnastics team for a great first year!  Next up for our new team:

2A / 3A / 4A – SPSL, Narrows, Olympic Sub-district Gymnastics Meet

Mount Rainier High School

Parking is available off  223rd Avenue in the north lot, as well as off 19th Street, in front of the school.

ALLOCATIONS
4A Allocations from the Sub-Districts to West Central District meet: 6 teams, 9 individuals, 3 all-arounds.
2A / 3A Allocations from the Sub-Districts to West Central District meet: 3 teams, 8 individuals, 4 all-arounds.

ROTATION / COMPETITORS
Please note that the times are approximate. An awards ceremony will be held after each classification’s last session. A team consists of six (6) competitors per event, including any all-around competitors, with five (5) scores counting toward the team total and a maximum of twelve (12) competitors per school. 4A teams will be asked to assist in taking down the equipment while the finals scores are calculated.

WARM-UPS
The gym will open at 7:45 AM for the first session, 11:45 AM for the second session and 3:45 PM for the third session, for stretching and tumbling on the competition floor. Second session warm-ups will begin at 12:00 PM in the warm-up gym and then move to the competition floor when the 3A awards ceremony is completed. These are the only times the competition floor will be available other than the warm-up prior to competition.

The first warm-up session will run from 8:00-8:45 AM.  March in will be at 9:10 AM. After introductions, teams go directly to their events or to the warm-up gym. The second and third sessions will follow the same format at the times listed on the rotation schedule.

TICKETS AND PASSES
Prices are established by the SPSL Principal’s Association:
Adults & Students w/o ASB: $7.00
Jr. & Sr. High students w/ASB $4.00
Senior Citizens & Elementary $2.00
South Puget Sound League passes will be accepted.
Cheerleaders and song leaders of participating schools will be admitted free, only if in uniform.

AWARDS
The SPSL will provide individual awards (ribbons) for 1st-10th places.

CONCESSIONS / HOSPITALITY
Concessions will be available for spectators and gymnasts. There will also be a hospitality room available for coaches, officials, and tournament staff. Each team is expected to bring a food or drink item to share in the hospitality room.

SOUVENIERS
There will be T-shirts available at the meet for athletes and fans to purchase.

 

BOYS AND GIRLS WRESTLING

BOYS WRESTLING SCHEDULE
Friday: 4:00 PM Wrestle through Quarter Finals
Saturday: 11:30 PM Semi Finals & Consolation Quarter Finals
Finals: approximately 4:00 PM

GIRLS WRESTLING SCHEDULE
Saturday: 10:00 AM Round 1-Semi Finals
2:00 Finals and Placing Matches

TOURNAMENT DETAILS
Friday and Saturday on three (3) Mats
Boys: 12 wrestlers/16 man bracket
Girls: Bracket size will be determined on Thursday, February 3 when rosters are received.
Champ brackets 2-2-2, Consolation 1-2-2. Overtime will be run as per WIAA Rule Book.

AWARDS
Awards will be given through six places.

CONCESSIONS
We will not be serving breakfast, but the concessions stand will open at 8:00 AM and will have many healthy options available. There are also many restaurants and a Safeway nearby.

Adults $7.00 (All Day)
Students w/ASB & Seniors $4.00 (all day)
Non School age $2 children & senior citizen
