EHS Hornet Baseball Team Sets School Record!

Contributed by Kevin Smith, EHS Athletic Director:

Last week, due to the extremely wet spring, our varsity Boys’ Baseball team had SIX full games scheduled.  They were not required by the league to play six, but the coaches and players had a team meeting on Saturday, April 16, and decided to take on the challenge.  They then went on to go 6-0, despite the snow and the stress on the pitching staff.  They outscored their opponents 88-44.  Senior E. Koenig hit 8 homeruns last week as well!

As far as any Hornet athletic expert knows, this is a school record.  No other Hornet Team has ever played six full games in one week. (It is possible that multiple reduced inning double or even triple headers were played in the past).  We are also sure that going 6-0 in a week is a school record in Hornet Land.  And, they locked-up the league championship!

No matter what the records broken or not broken may be, this was an amazing week for our baseball team.  The coaches and players gave us their best.  Please take the time to congratulate them!
