Board Elections:  November 2011

There will be four Enumclaw School District Board of Director positions that will be up for election in November.  Three of the positions (Director Areas # 1, 3 and 4 currently held by Nancy Merrill, Corey Cassell and Tim Nickson respectively) are on their regular cycle of four-year terms. Director Area Position #2 (currently held by Tamarah Hancock) will be on the ballot to complete the final two years of the term formerly won by Cathy Dahlquist in 2009.  Dahlquist resigned in 2010 upon being elected to the state legislature.

Below is information regarding filing to be a candidate for one of the open board positions.  Additional information can be found at the King County Elections website.http://www.kingcounty.gov/elections.aspx

When to file
The filing period begins the first Monday in June and ends the following Friday. All declarations of candidacy must be received before the close of business on the last day of the filing period. Declarations of candidacy received after this date, regardless of the postmark, are invalid.

Mailed declarations of candidacy may be submitted in advance up to ten business days before the filing period begins. Declarations of candidacy filed in person must be during business hours.

In-person:
June 6 – June 10, 2011
Filing opens Monday, June 6 at 8:30 a.m. and closes at 4:30 p.m. on June 10, 2011.

Mail:
May 20 – June 10, 2011
Filings made by mail must be received by the filing officer not earlier than ten working days before the first day of filing or no later than the close of business on the last day of the filing period, irrespective of postmark. Failure to meet the deadline renders the filing invalid and it will be returned.

Online:
Filings made online for regular candidates may begin at 9 a.m. the first Monday in June and continue through 4 p.m. the following Friday.
