EHS Wind Ensemble Is Top Band In Entire Region!

Article was contributed by Junior, E. Beinke:

The EHS Wind Ensemble prepared a piece that most musicians have played only at the University and Conservatory level. Many directors have said that they wouldn't touch it with a ten-foot pole. Regardless, Ms. Lynda Alley took a risk that most certainly paid off.

On Tuesday, March 27, they performed at the Green River Music Region's Large Group Contest. "We played so well that the music washed over the audience as well as the performers as the piece is hauntingly beautiful. Music did what music does best and that is to connect people without using a single word. That's what we did and it brought chills to all who heard it including me. I would like to add that I feel it is such a gift to have such a strong music program here in Enumclaw. I would like to thank Ms. Lynda Alley for believing in us and taking me personally to great heights."

The judges unanimously wrote comments such as:

  • "Superior sensitive performance!"
  • "Superior Control"
  • "Superb Control of Pulse"
  • "Precision and Clarity were exemplary"
  • "Concentration is Superior"
  • "Polished performance!"
  • "Technical facility is Superb and clearly exhibited throughout the ensemble"
  • "What a transcendent musical experience for all of you-Phenomenal Job!"

Congratulations to Ms. Alley and our EHS Wind Ensemble students!
