EHS Musicians Make History at STATE Music Competition

Contributed by Lynda Alley, EHS Band and Orchestra Director:

Hard work, determination and lots and lots of practice are the makings of a state champion. Imagine this -photo of state winners with Ms. Alley 30,000 students in the state of Washington performing in their regional competition hoping to win the region in their category. If they win the region they are then given the prestigious opportunity to compete against the best at the state level in Ellensburg at Central Washington University. This is exactly what 34 EHS musicians did. This past weekend band, choir and orchestra students proudly represented themselves, the school and the great town of Enumclaw with superb performances. ALL the students received SUPERIOR RATINGS and two of those students, Kaelynn Dirks and Alyssa Hudon won 1st place with their violin duet making history as it is the first time any orchestra students from Enumclaw placed at the state competition. This is an even sweeter win for them as they are seniors! Congratulations to all of them!
