High School Program Benefits From Recently Awarded Grants!

The Career and Technical Education Department of the Enumclaw School District has received $27,500 in grant monies over the last two weeks to upgrade its current Agriculture Mechanics program. The district was just informed that it received a $25,000 aerospace manufacturing grant from the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction, and last week the Enumclaw Schools Foundation awarded a $2,500 grant to the district.

The high school plans to reinvent its existing Agriculture Mechanics program, which currently focuses on welding, cutting and small engine repair. The grant dollars will allow the current program to expand into an entry level welding, machining, and advanced manufacturing skills program. This new program will still meet the needs of our agriculture community by offering components of welding, cutting and small engine repairs. Students in this program will also gain knowledge of the manufacturing and aerospace industry, its place in the region, and develop the specific manufacturing and aerospace industry standard skills needed for a successful post-secondary transition into the workplace or further education/training.
