ESF Mardi Gras luncheon A Huge Success!

Yesterday, our Enumclaw Schools Foundation hosted their third annual Mardi Gras luncheon at the Enumclaw Field House. Over 200 community and business leaders attended this luncheon where they listened to:

• EHS Jazz musicians playing as people were arriving,
• Southwood students singing America.
• ESF President Johna Thomson present the vision for the foundation,
• SLP Jeanne Northfield, recipient of an ESF grant for iPads, share the impact on learning it had for her students,
• EHS student Levi Norton share the impact of how our STEM initiatives have impacted his learning,
• Two short videos on the use of iPads and the STEM Expo. These were created by students in Doug Wolff’s class.
• And Nancy Merrill share a heartfelt story about the importance of supporting our public schools and giving to the foundation.

2010 EHS alumni Kameron Jacobs was the Master of Ceremonies for the event. He was poised and confident as he facilitated the entire luncheon.

Many, many individuals worked tirelessly on our behalf to raise money as well as create a positive “hornet buzz” about the good work that is occurring in the Enumclaw School District. The ESF financial team left the district office around 6:00 last night and estimated contributions of about $17,000! We are so very grateful to our very generous community!

Ways to Support the Enumclaw Schools Foundation:
• Of course, they would take a direct donation at any time! :)
• Attend their Full Day Kindergarten Auction on the evening of Saturday, April 13th
• Go through the Enumclaw Schools Foundation website when making purchases from Amazon (ESF receives a % back with each purchase…this has been highly successful for them)
• Designated United Way contributions to ESF
• Apply for upcoming grants so ESF can spread your creative ideas and strategies for helping all kids.
• Volunteer to help with the organization of events and activities. Contact ESF President Johna Thomson. Johna@drdthomson.com
