EHS Spring Sports Update



Equestrian Team Results:
Congratulations to the EHS Equestrian team on their rides at the State WAHSET meet! We had a rider place in the top ten in 19 events! At the meet, we received four gold medals, one silver and four bronze medals! Riders who received medals in individual and/or team events are: A. Bergquist, S. DeSmul, K. Markonich, R. Williams, E. After many days of rain, the Lady Hornet Fastpitch Team defeated all opponents to become the WCDIII-SWDIV District Champs!!

Congratulations to T. Wilkening, M. Petellin, T. Wilkening, M. Pillo, K. Eldridge and J. Erickson who have qualified for the state golf championship next week in Vancouver Washington. B. Miller will serve as an alternate.

Tennis—District Results:
A great weekend for Hornets. Two doubles teams are going to State—H. Smith and R. Norling took third, and K. Zilbauer and C. Clare took the sixth seed to State.

Track—District Results:
Congratulations to the following Track and Field athletes who are moving on to State:
O. Bannerot in the 4x2 and 4x4 relay
M. Blad in the 100 and 300 hurdles and 4x4 relay
H. Calvert and S. Engebretsen in the 1600 and 3200 meter
K. Christensen in the 4x2 and 4x4 relay
A. Gwerder in the 200 and 400 meter, long jump and 4x4 relay
K. Holland in the 4x2 relay
D. Lindsey in the 4x2 relay
Z. Mason in the 200 meter
K. Moulden in the Discus and Shot Put
T. Rodarte in the Triple Jump
K. Moulden had a personal best in the shot put with a 41'3" sophomore class record, and the girls 4x4 relay had a phenomenal race, breaking a 26 year old school record with a time of 4:02.36.

The girls’ team finished the district meet placing 2nd overall. Good Job Hornet Track!

Water Polo--South Sound State Tournament Results:
The Girls Water Polo Team won their final game of the season on Saturday, 8-4 over Stadium, to finish in 11th place at the Washington State Water Polo Championships. Senior B. Davenport and junior M. Lesmeister each scored three goals, and sophomore H. Sonneson and freshman A. Davenport each scored one.
This marked the eighth consecutive year the Hornets have participated in the State tournament. Curtis beat three-time defending State champion Gig Harbor in the championship game.
