The second Annual STEM luncheon, attended by 160 of our community and business leaders, special guests from WASA, OSPI, Puget Sound ESD, the cities of Enumclaw and Black Diamond, as well as district leadership and teachers, was held at the Field House on January 30.
The Enumclaw Rotary and Enumclaw Schools Foundation sponsored the catered event in support of the Enumclaw School District's initiative to promote and expand STEM activities and programs. Keynote speaker was Jeff Charbonneau, National Teacher of the Year, from Zillah School District who teaches physics, chemistry and engineering. NAO, the humanoid robot, also "wowed" the crowd with his abilities to interact at a human level. This was the preliminary event before the STEM Expo, which began at 4:00 pm at the EHS Commons.
