Capital Facilities and Instructional Technology Levy Passes!

Back

2/6/2009

Each day offers us the gift of being a special occasion if we can simply learn that as well as giving, it is blessed to receive with grace and a grateful heart.

It is with incredible excitement for you and your students and a grateful heart to the citizens in the Enumclaw School District that I share with you that our Capital Facilities and Instructional Technology Levy is currently passing by a percentage of 52.8%!!  It has been rising each day and I am ready to call the election in our favor! (Results as of Friday, February 6 at 4:30p.m. were over 53% yes!)

I am so thankful to each of you for your work in spreading accurate and honest information about our process and items on this measure.   YOU have had a powerful impact on this outcome and I am truly grateful.

I am so thankful to the community committee, led by Kathleen Michael, who worked tirelessly on our behalf and on behalf of our students in supporting our major facility needs and who also saw a new vision for technology in our school district.

I am so thankful to our Board of Directors who, for almost two years, spent many hours in meetings studying the needs of our school district, listening to staff and patron thoughts and feedback and then deciding to place this measure before the voters.

I believe this measure, particularly the technology portion, will have a monumental impact on instruction and learning in the next few years!

I hope you join me in celebrating this exciting time in the Enumclaw School District.
