Video: Capital Projects Update!

Thank you to our community who approved a bond in April 2015 to rebuild Black Diamond Elementary plus modernize and create a new classroom wing at Enumclaw High School. Watch the video to get an inside look at the projects.

Liz LeRoy, Owner’s Rep, Alliance Management I’m Liz LeRoy. I’m the Owner’s Rep at the Enumclaw School District. I’m here helping them coordinate the Project Management of the construction. Where we are right now is outside of the Main Entry/Admin area at the High School. We started Phase 1 of a multi-phase project at the High School. Right behind us is Building 100, which is the first part that opens the way for demo for Buildings 100 and 200 and 300 that will open up the whole space to be able to build the next part of the construction. We are embarking on this til 2020. We’ll be working closely with staff and students and the community to really provide a great space to house our kids. It includes a new library space, a new classroom space, and as we saw before, we saw the new Phase 0 for the CTE Program that included the CAD lab, video space and the cycloramic greenroom.

Mike Nelson, Superintendent Enumclaw School District We are in the new culinary lab at Enumclaw High School and it’s going to be spectacular for kids to do amazing culinary adventures. It’s going to be a great opportunity for our students.

Liz LeRoy, Owner’s Rep, Alliance Management I’m just really excited to start working close with the community and provide a great space for kids.

Mike Nelson, Superintendent Enumclaw School District We are at the Black Diamond Elementary job site where construction continues on the construction of the new Black Diamond Elementary. We’re about halfway through the progress. This is our first time to explore the new school and get up into the second floor and begin to see what classrooms will look like. I’m excited for this opportunity.

Gerrie Garton, Principal Black Diamond Elementary I am just so excited to be here today. I’ve been out here since June but the demolition took place This is the first time I’ve been inside our building. And - I didn’t want to cry - but I want to say how blessed I am and thank you to our voters and our community folks for making this happen. It’s amazing. I can’t wait to bring my students and my staff out.

Mike Nelson, Superintendent Enumclaw School District I can’t help but to stand before you today with such a grateful heart. It was four years ago that our Board of Directors began the conversation of putting a Construction Bond to the voters in Enumclaw School District for a new Black Diamond Elementary School. Their vision from that day led to a Construction Bond two years ago. And patrons thank you so much for approving that bond two years ago because today we had the experience of walking through the new Black Diamond Elementary and to see what those classroom spaces will look like. With the framing of the building and I’m telling you it’s going to be an exciting learning space for students. Thank you so much. I stand before you as Superintendent with such a grateful heart today. Thank YOU.
