Jill Barrett Announced as EMS Principal



Jill Today we extend a warm welcome to Jill Barrett, our next Principal of Enumclaw Middle School beginning July, 2017. The comprehensive interview process included district leaders; EMS staff, students and families; and community members to select a focused and collaborative leader. Jill’s experiences and strengths proved to be exemplary while also showing strong leadership skills throughout interviews and presentations. Jill Barrett shared her target is “to inspire collaboration, professional growth of staff, and a school-wide culture of equity and excellence with the goal of reaching the highest levels of student achievement.”

Ms. Barrett brings a valuable set of skills and wealth of experience to the leadership position. Jill began her tenure in education in 2001, joined the administrative ranks in 2013 as Dean of Students, and then transitioned to Assistant Principal in 2014. Jill’s background in Special Education, Alternative Education, and Reading along with a breadth of experience teaching 2nd through 12th grades provides experience with middle level instructional strategies that engage and motivate learners. Additionally, Jill has led school-wide instructional initiatives using data informed decision making processes.

Current EMS Principal Steve Rabb is moving on to Orting School District after 25 years of service at Enumclaw Middle School, and we wish him success in his new position as Curriculum and Instruction Director. Jill Barrett will partner with current Assistant Administrator Paul Dumontet to lead the Timberwolves. Please join us in welcoming Jill Barrett to our outstanding team!
