Helping Hands Food Drive

Back

11/6/2017

Last school year 30% of our students qualified for the Free or Reduced-Priced Meal program. That is 1216 school age children in our area who likely do not have consistent food in their home or enough to make a holiday meal. If you are able to donate during the upcoming weeks, we appreciate help in collecting food to make Thanksgiving meal baskets for 100 families. We are collecting:

  *foil roasting pans
  *canned sweet potatoes
  *boxed mashed potatoes
*canned vegetables (corn, green beans, carrots, etc.)
  *boxed stuffing mix
  *cranberry sauce
  *canned pumpkin
  *canned black olives
  *evaporated milk
  *cash donations to purchase turkeys

Check with the schools for collection boxes or bring donations to the District Office before November 15. On November 16 and 17, the EHS Activities Office (in the commons) will also be open for collecting donations. Please call our Human Relations team at 360-802-7112 if you need assistance transporting or have questions. Any extra food from this collection event is given to local food banks. Thank you for collaborating with us to provide nutritious meals for our students!
