Background Information

Spring 2007
Mike Nelson and Tim Madden (former Director of Business and Operations) met with all staff members in their building and facilitated community meetings at each school sited seeking initial input of facility needs.

Summer 2007
A committee of staff, board members and community selected Mahlum Architects to take the information gathered from spring meetings to create an Enumclaw School District Study and Survey. Our school district was given a grant from the state of Washington to pay for a new study and survey.

Fall 2007/Winter 2008
The Enumclaw School District staff made several reports to the Board of Directors with the support of Mahlum Architects regarding facility needs and costs. Facility items deemed as a priority began to emerge.

An outside audit of our technology department was conducted by the Puget Sound Educational Service District

Fall 2008
Because of the economic climate, the Board of Directors shifted their conversation from running a comprehensive bond to address many of the facility needs to running a four-year levy to address critical facility issues and technology.
