Seattle Times-Guide to Schools

Recently a Guide to Schools was produced by the Seattle Times on South Puget Sound schools. This report presents raw data on a number of criteria as well as personal impressions/opinions of a few admissions officers from across the state. The Seattle Times chose to highlight the personal opinions of nine admissions officers and 4 consultants that placed E.H.S. 84th out of 85 other high schools. Upon investigating, it is unclear the criteria used in determining these rankings. It is also important to note that many of these officers were not from the geographic regions in which most of our graduates attend college and “these comments were personal opinions of the survey participants and are not scientific” (Information directly taken from Seattle Times School Guide).

The Board of Directors and school staff have studied thoroughly the data presented in the guide and although we do recognize the need for improvement, it is also clearly evident that our graduates are performing very successfully in their post high school endeavors. Below is a summary of the findings that support this conclusion.
