Student Teacher Interns in Enumclaw School District

There are a growing number of student teacher interns from several local universities who are requesting to do their student teaching in our schools in Enumclaw. Currently we have 14 interns working with classroom teachers K-12 in our district. As part of our partnership with Seattle Pacific University, six elementary interns are spending 20 weeks with us. Three interns are at Westwood and three are at Black Diamond. Other interns are from Central Washington University, University of Washington, City University, University of Puget Sound, and Pacific Lutheran University. They are benefiting from the exceptional teaching models in the Enumclaw School District. Currently students are placed at Enumclaw Middle School, Westwood Kindergarten Program, Thunder Mountain Middle School, Enumclaw High School, and J.J. Smith Elementary. Having student teachers in our system not only benefits the interns, but also benefits our students by providing an extra adult to help support learning opportunities for all kids in participating classrooms.
