Dress Code Update

As many of you already know, shorts were somehow omitted from the handbook this year. An announcement will be made in the bulletin tomorrow to re-establish the fingertip rule for shorts. Here is an updated dress code policy that is being shared with students.

Thank you for your continued support on this issue.

The following types of clothing/attire are examples which would not be appropriate in the work place and therefore will not be worn to school:

- Clothing that promotes alcohol, tobacco, other drugs, sexual innuendo, displays profanity, or promotes violence.
- See through clothing.
- Clothing which is torn or exposes inappropriate areas.
- Gang-type attire, including bandanas
- Clothing which exposes the student's midriff
- Exposed underwear of any kind
- 3 Inch Rule - Skirts and dresses must be no shorter than 3" above the top of the students knee cap.
- Fingertip Rule - Shorts must extend beyond the student's fingertips with the student standing up straight with arms relaxed at their side.

- Additional guidelines will be developed as necessary to provide a safe, healthy, orderly, and positive environment for all students.
