Sunday Evening News: EHS students supporting Gulf Port, Mississippi

November 28, 2005

By Mike Nelson
A team of nine people including seven EHS students (T. Hardin, N. Patrick, J. Torres, J. Crews, C. Corella, C. Anderson and T. Hart) will be going to Gulf Port, Mississippi on Dec 14th thru the 23rd to clean debris left from the hurricane including tearing soggy insulation and sheet rock from private homes. An Enumclaw Adventure School student, T. Hardin, is coordinating the trip as part of his first semester individual adventure project. He is doing everything from finding an organization to volunteer with to tracking donations. The trip is being coordinated through a non-profit organization called Peacework International.

There will be a spaghetti feed/dance fundraiser featuring the band Silas. This will take place at the Buckley Eagles on Dec. 2nd from 6:30 - 10:00. Tickets are $10.00 and can be purchased from any of the team members or at the door. For further information, please contact T. Hardin at EHS.
