More Accomplishments From The Arts

June 9, 2006

Last night two cast members from "Bye Bye Birdie", K. Ferguson and S. Aubert, sang on the stage of The 5th Avenue Theatre in downtown Seattle. They performed with many other schools from around the state as part of the 5th Avenue Theatre Awards Program which has been designed to honor musical theatre much like the Tony Awards in New York.

Mr. Scott and Mr. Miller are pleased to announce that Enumclaw High School participated in the program for the first time this year, and after having anonymous adjudicators visit our production we have received two Honorable Mentions. In the category of Outstanding Female Supporting Actor: K. Ferguson for her role as Mrs. Macafee as well as an Honorable Mention for our Stage Crew.

The Awards Ceremony will be televised on TVW (channel 24 on Comcast) Monday, June 12th @ 8pm.

The other thing the Drama Department has got cooking is an Acting Showcase next Tuesday, June 13th at 7pm. The Acting II Class will be presenting a variety of scenes and playing some improv games with audience suggestions to show off their talents. Admission is free.
