High School Musical Honors

May 23, 2007

I am pleased to announce that Enumclaw High School's Production of "CHICAGO" has been nominated in two distinguished categories as part of the 2007 5th Avenue Theatre Awards. Each year adjudicators visit High Schools around Washington State to view their musical productions. This year over 60 High Schools participated, nominations were released today, and a Tony Awards-style ceremony will be hosted by the Seattle theatre on June 4th at 7pm.

Enumclaw was nominated in the extremely competitive category Outstanding Choreography as well as Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble Group for the Cell Block Girls. We also received an Honorable Mention in the category Outstanding Orchestra.

Needless to say, we are very joyous right now! As part of the Awards Ceremony, seniors J. Schipper and A. Manning will be performing onstage at the 5th Avenue Theatre singing and dancing in the All-School Opening Production Number.

Most of the "CHICAGO" cast, crew, and orchestra will travel to Seattle to be in the audience cheering them on! The entire evening is televised, and whatever the outcome, it is sure to be a magical night.
