Puyallup Spring Fair- FFA & Jr Livestock

Congratulations to the Enumclaw FFA Chapter exhibitors at the recent Puyallup Spring Fair and the Northwest Jr Livestock Show. This is the culminating event for livestock projects in the works for the past three to eight months!

There were 30 pig entries, seven steers and 2 lamb exhibitors from Enumclaw. The students selected their livestock project animals, cared for and fed them, trained for the show-ring, marketed and then sold their project animals at "live auction" Sunday April 20.T. Johnson showed the Grand Champion FFA Pig for the second year in a row and received the Martin Johnson award for outstanding member participation and as a student who has not only benefited from this show but has given selflessly back to the improvement of the show.

A. Blanchet showed a Division winning pig. B. Irwin showed the Res Grand Champion Steer, showing two division winners, and placed in the Livestock Judging competition. T. Gramley also showed a division winning Steer. The EHS students all worked well together to promote youth in agriculture in a positive light and were fine representatives of Enumclaw High School and our community. Many other students had representative "best works" on display at the FFA Spring Fair Exhibit including welding projects and educational displays. They not only received ribbons but premium awards.
