Gerrie Garton Named Black Diamond Principal

I am pleased to announce that Gerrie Garton has been named principal of Black Diamond Elementary School!

Gerrie has spent the last nine years in the Enumclaw School District as a classroom teacher, teacher on special assignment during the full day kindergarten project and most recently as the Director of Professional Development and Community Relations. She received her Principal and Program Certificate in 2006 from City University. She has received numerous state and national honors for her work in curriculum and instruction including being a staff member of a National Blue Ribbon School recognized by the US Department of Education and a speaker at the International Reading Association Conference on two occasions. She will bring this instructional expertise to Black Diamond as she begins her work with students and staff.

Congratulations Gerrie!

As a part of our continual efforts to make budget reductions, Gerrie's administrative position of Director of Professional Development and Community Relations will not be filled.
