Moment with Mimi

It’s been another great month of learning & supporting one another at Kibler!

Carol Decker visited our May assembly to share stories about perseverance. This fit perfectly with our school-wide focus: stamina & empathy.

We know that our third through fifth grade students are digging deep into their ability to have stamina and use persistence on our state tests. Lessons on having growth mindset, help students remember that you may see a question that seems "new to you” but you can use strategies to not give up and think it through. Great life lesson!

Our kindergarten through second grade students are showing great empathy and understanding of our testing students by creating encouraging notes, pictures, and posters for a buddy classroom.

So proud of how our Kibler Bears are Supporting One Another!

Safety Update

In our constant pursuit to create a safe learning environment, we are continuing our conversations around safety and security as a staff. We have two updates to share with you:

1. We will be having classroom conversations around following a staff members directions if there is not an alarm. This might occur if there was a threat that the staff member was aware of, such as an active shooter. The classroom conversation will use age appropriate language to explain that students must stop, listen to staff directions, and stay quiet. The staff member may direct students to run to a safer location or direct students to hide.

2. The breeze way door, by the memorial garden, will now be a locked. This includes before school. For student safety all entry into Kibler will use the door by the main office.

Thank you for your support,
Mimi & The Kibler Staff
