Thank you for visiting the Byron Kibler Elementary website! Kibler Elementary is a dynamic community for students, staff, and families. We serve approximately 430 students from kindergarten through fifth grade. Throughout Kibler you will see evidence of our school commitments: Show Respect, Solve Problems, and Make Good Choices.

Our slogan is "the school with heart". While visiting Kibler you will see that slogan in action. As educators, we have a heart for ensuring that our students achieve at high levels both in academics and social-emotional skills. Entering our school you will be warmly greeted by our excellent office staff. As you visit classrooms, you’ll see teachers and students sitting side-by side engaged in thoughtful discussions about their reading or groups of students sharing their latest writing piece or considering their options for solving a math problem. From hands-on science discovery to grappling with historical themes, Kibler students and staff are focused on making learning engaging and relevant.

As a staff, we are continuing to refine our research-based practices in balanced literacy, incorporating GLAD strategies (Guided Language Acquisition Design), aligning instruction to standards, and using assessment thoughtfully to meet individual student needs. Kids are at the heart of our work. Our dedicated teaching staff focuses their learning, instruction, and collaboration on how we can best meet our students' needs.

Kibler Elementary has many additional programs to meet students’ needs: Federal Title 1 and LAP Reading Intervention Grants, Federal Special Education Funding, Speech and Language Program, Physical Education, Music Education, Social-Emotional Education, and ELL (English Language Learning).

Our hard working classified staff strives to ensure safety and facilitate problem solving for our students during arrival, dismissal, lunch and recess. They join our teachers in supporting student academically throughout the school day.

The Kibler community at large: staff, families, and PTA all work together to provide a memorable and meaningful learning experience where our students thrive. Kibler pride is strong!

We appreciate your partnership with learning at home. If you're able, we'd love to have you partner with us at school. Please let us know if you'd like to volunteer during the school day or with our community events.

Partnering with you,
Mimi Brown
