World Book Online

The district libraries recently subscribed to World Book Online. This incredible resource features three reference levels: World Book Kids (pre-school and elementary levels), World Book Online Reference Center (middle and high school levels), and World Book Advanced (high school and college level), plus a Spanish version. There are amazing resources on the site, both for students and teachers. A few highlights include:

  • All the articles from the 22-volume print set, regularly updated
  • Links to websites, editor-screened for authenticity and age-appropriate content
  • Related articles from major newspapers and magazines
  • Extensive graphics and multimedia enhancements; including photos, maps, illustrations, tables, and audio/video clips
  • A primary source collection
  • A timeline builder
  • A citation builder
  • Lesson plan links
