Levy 2022
What does the Educational Programs and Operations Levy 2022 fund?
The current Educational Programs & Operation (EP&O) levy (approved by voters in 2018) currently funds approximately 13% of the ESD operating budget. This levy expires at the end of 2022.
Educational Programs & Operation Levies are used to pay for eligible educational programs and operations not funded by the State, including counselors, nurses and health room professionals, safety and security, custodians, librarians, para-educators, certificated staff, early learning services, special education services, transportation, social and mental health services, fine arts, athletics, co-curricular programs and the maintenance of playgrounds, playfields, and other facilities. If authorized by the voters and based on projected assessed evaluation information, the District estimates tax rates of $1.77 per $1,000 of assessed valuation (2023 collection), $1.71 per $1,000 of assessed valuation (2024 collection), $1.67 per $1,000 of assessed valuation (2025 collection), and $1.65 per $1,000 of assessed valuation (2026 collection).
The EP&O Levy funds:
- Counselors and Mental Health Services
- Health Rooms
- Support Staff
- Special Education and Early Learning
- Programs, Fine Arts, Athletics
- Transportation
This is not a new tax.
The proposed levy replaces the expiring EP&O Levy.
