English Language Development

ELD - English Language Development services (formerly known as ESL or ELL) are available at all Enumclaw schools. Students qualify for the ELD program through testing. Translators are available upon request.

The "No Child Left Behind" (NCLB) Act from the federal government requires states to set performance goals for all groups of children, including English Language Learners. These goals are called Annual Measurable Achievement Objectives (AMAOs), which set targets, show the results for English language proficiency, and 'exit' from ESL programs.
