State Testing

2021 Fall State Testing

The Smarter Balanced assessments and the Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science (WCAS) are normally given in the spring. The spring 2021 tests were postponed until fall of 2021. The fall 2021 tests will be reflective of the grade students were in during the 2020-21 school year.

For Example:

  • A student enrolled in grade 4 in fall 2021 will take the grade 3 Smarter Balanced assessments.
  • A student enrolled in grade 9 in fall 2021 will take the grade 8 Smarter Balanced assessments and WCAS.

Smarter Balanced ELA and math will be administered in grades 4–9 and 11 for the grades 3–8 and 10 tests. The WCAS will be administered in grades 6, 9, and 12 for the grades 5, 8, and 11 tests.

*Individual schools will be communicating the specific times to students and families on the days in which testing will occur.

The Enumclaw School District participates in federal and state mandated assessments including the Smarter Balanced Assessments and the Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science (WCAS). We also use data from district and classroom-based assessments to monitor student progress and provide feedback about each student’s growth. Information about testing is available through our district office and individual schools.

Under the federal law of Every Child Succeeds Act we are required to report school and district achievement results. For details, please visit
