No later than May 1, 2024, a parent or guardian may request an exemption for a child whose 5th birthday falls after August 30, (the cutoff for Kindergarten) and by November 1st of the upcoming school year. For the 2023 - 2024 school year, this would target any child whose birthday falls between September 1, 2019, through November 1, 2019.

Those interested in requesting an exemption for their child must complete an exemption form and attend an informational meeting on the first Monday in May. (Details will be given upon submission of request.)

The exemption will be based on assessments conducted by a certified/licensed Psychologist and other early learning staff in accordance with Board Policy and Procedure 3110 and 3110P. The district charges a fee of $250 for the testing, which is to be paid by the child's family. If your family qualifies for free/reduced lunch under the USDA Federal Poverty Guidelines, the $250 fee will be waived.
