Enumclaw School District is proud to offer Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs that align with rigorous industry and academic standards. These courses introduce students to high-demand, highly skilled career pathways, emphasizing real-world skills to prepare for the future. Integrating 21st-century skills, technical knowledge, and core academic learnings, our goal is that every student will graduate from EHS prepared for the job market and post-secondary education.
Students in our middle and high schools have the opportunity to participate in a variety of courses from six program areas: STEM, Health Sciences, Skilled and Technical Sciences, Business and Marketing, Family and Consumer Science, and Agricultural Science. An average of 2400 seats were filled in CTE courses each month during the 2021-2022 school year alone.

In partnership with local post-secondary institutions, 28 courses allow students to earn college credit while completing their high school CTE coursework. We also offer several Industry Recognized Certifications, giving students a leg up in the field of their choice. Worksite learning provides students with opportunities to learn in the field and meet their defined career goals. Last year, 46 EHS students worked over 18,000 hours, using that experience to show their career readiness while earning credit toward high school graduation.
In order for CTE to provide an innovative environment, ESD is constantly looking to ensure our facilities, course offerings, and instructional materials are industry standard. This year, we were excited to offer several new courses, including Child Development (education), Business and Marketing II, Animal Science 11, Digital Communications, and Manufacturing Apprenticeship to our students. We are also making significant improvements to our facilities by adding a new barn for animal programs, updating the auto shop with new equipment, and renovating classroom space to become better suited for our Engineering Program.
We strive to offer real experiences for our students, help them grow and understand who they are, and consider their aptitude, skills, and interests while investigating career options. Whether students plan to go to work straight out of high school or eventually earn a Ph.D., have a clear career goal, or want to learn something practical and new, all students benefit from participating in CTE courses and programs of study.
