Three high school FFA students teach enumclaw middle school students a lesson on agricultural technology standing in front of classroom

Students in Enumclaw High School’s FFA program visited Enumclaw Middle School’s leadership classes this week to teach students about the impact of agricultural technology.

Known as the “Swaggy Aggies,” these 10th through 12th graders drew on their experience in agricultural science, public speaking and raising animals to lead interactive, small-group activities.

“The high school leaders did an outstanding job facilitating small-group activities and creating opportunities for our students to learn and ask questions,” said EMS leadership teacher Karl Karkainen.

Feedback from a similar visit last spring shows how students value this approach. As one middle school student shared in an anonymous survey, “I like how the lesson was very interactive and educational at the same time.”

Thank you to our FFA students for sharing their knowledge and helping younger students see the connections between agriculture, technology and their community!
