Family Access Update Migrating to the Newest Version of Skyward with images of an astronaut, planets and a rocket

Our district is currently working on a major information system upgrade: transitioning from Skyward SMS 2.0 to Skyward Qmlativ ("New Skyward") in February 2026. This system update is required and promises enhanced functionality across key areas of student information, payroll, finance, and human resources.

This project represents a significant undertaking for our district. For the past year, the district office and departments, including Business Office, Technology, and Human Resources, have been involved in planning and preparation.

Many families use Family Access through Skyward to view their student's lunch account, grades, attendance, discipline, and more.

Below are important dates related to student and Family Access through Skyward:

February 2, 2026: New student online enrollment will be paused until February 28, 2026. Online enrollment applications will need to be submitted before February 2, 2026, or after February 28, 2026.

February 9-22, 2026: Student/Family Access will be inactivated on Monday, February 9, 2026. All Skyward systems will be offline from Monday, February 9, 2026, to February 22, 2026, for migration.

February 23, 2026: We are expected to go live with “New Skyward” on Monday, February 23, 2026, at the start of the school day.

Skyward Mobile App Users

All Users: The Skyward mobile app will be inactivated for all users (staff, families, and students) on Monday, February 9, 2026, at 8 AM.

Attempts to log in to the app after this time will result in an error.

The mobile app will be available once we are live in Qmlativ, “New Skyward” on Monday, February 23, 2026.

Instructions for configuring your account in the app after the update will be made available on the district’s website and sent out to families as our go-live date approaches. (Users cannot configure the app prior to February 23, 2026.)

What is a Student/Staff Information System (SIS)?

Skyward is the main software our district uses to manage essential records and data for both students and employees. It’s the central hub that keeps everything organized, accurate, and accessible. Currently, we use the Skyward SMS 2.0 version of this software.

For students/families, the system tracks:

  • Enrollment and demographic information

  • Attendance and class schedules

  • Grades, report cards, and transcripts

  • Discipline and health records

  • Special services and program participation

  • Family contact information

  • Communications home

  • Countless integrations with other platforms

For staff, it helps manage:

  • Employment records and job assignments

  • Certifications and evaluations

  • Leave balances and absences

  • Professional development records

  • District directory and contact information

  • Payroll and benefits information

Schools, departments, and educators use this system every day to keep our schools running smoothly and ensure we have reliable, up-to-date information to support our students and staff.
