Kindergarten Round-Up for the 2024-2025 school year is at Black Diamond Elementary this Thursday (3/21) evening from 5-6 pm in the gym! Please tell your family and friends about this special event as this will be an opportunity to meet the teachers, visit the classroom and even take bus ride!

This morning, a house fire was reported across from Black Diamond Elementary School. We want to assure our families that students and school staff are safe. Emergency responders are currently at the scene and managing the situation.
The safety of our students, families, and staff is our utmost priority. We are in close contact with local authorities and emergency services to monitor the situation and will follow our safety procedures. At this time, school operations are continuing as scheduled.

The Camp Franklin Read-A-Thon hosted by BD PTO is in full swing and students are earning school-wide rewards! Tomorrow, Thursday, March 7, 2024, the students earned HAT DAY! Have your students don their favorite hat because together, students have logged over 8000 additional minutes read in the first week of our read-a-thon. Let's keep it up, Miners!

Black Diamond Elementary wants to take a moment to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of the families who joined us for Literacy Night. Your presence and participation made the event a tremendous success! It was wonderful to see families come together to celebrate the joys of reading and learning. Our PTO members and members of our BDE Staff put in a tremendous amount of effort to create an enriching and enjoyable experience for everyone, and your enthusiastic involvement made it all the more rewarding! FAMILY RESOURCE FAIR:
Create connections with community agencies, college representatives, legal resources, transit options, and specialized groups that can help our Special Education students and their families work toward their goals.
Visit the EHS Commons on Thursday, March 14, 2024, from 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM.
The event is geared toward families of students in Kindergarten through age 21.

Mrs. Davis's 1st-grade class at BDE celebrated the 101st day of school with the theme of "101 Dalmatians."

Please join us for a fun evening sponsored by the Black Diamond PTO on Wednesday, February 28th for Literacy Night from 5:30 - 7:00! This is a family event and fun for all school ages! The evening will include game stations, art projects, reading with a friend and a book swap, so please bring a book to share. We hope to see you there!

Due to current and forecasted weather conditions this morning, all Enumclaw School District schools will operate on a two-hour delay out of an abundance of caution. There will be out-of-district transportation. Buses are running on normal routes. Birth to Five TK and ECEAP will run on a two-hour delay. AM ECEAP and AM DVPS are canceled and PM ECEAP will start on time at 12:15 pm and PM DVPS will start on time at 1:00 pm.

Due to weather conditions, all Enumclaw School District schools will operate on a two-hour delay. There will be no out-of-district transportation. Buses are running on snow routes. Our early release schedule is cancelled and students will attend school until the regular release time. Our Birth to Five Transitional Kindergarten will also operate on a two-hour delay.

Black Diamond Elementary School held their 5th-grade Dancing Classroom's Culminating Event. The students learned and performed the following seven (7) dances; Swing, Tango, Rumba, Merengue, Waltz, Polka, and Foxtrot. They were absolutely amazing! We are so proud of this hard-working group who grew tremendously through this whole process!
On Wednesday evening, the PTO at Black Diamond Elementary sponsored a community event, "Art Night" for our school families. It was a great evening where kids and parents alike could be creative and have fun using their imaginations with paint, watercolors, games and create some fun musical instruments with spoons and beans! Many students and parents brought some great projects home to share with their families! Thank you all for coming and making it a special evening!



Reminder: All ESD buildings will be closed Thursday, November 23 and Friday, November 24 for Thanksgiving Break. Enjoy the long weekend!

Mrs. Davis' 1st grade class held a Fair Share event in her classroom today. Her students created a science project on bats, snakes, spiders, and praying mantis. The students provided detailed information on their choice of a reptile, mammal, or insect and had the opportunity to share their work with other classes.


Members of our Enumclaw High School Football Team and Cheer Squad came out to help our students at dismissal time! It was a special time for our students to get the opportunity to meet the players and cheerleaders as they were leaving for the day. Wishing them all the best in their playoff game tonight!
