IdeaProject

This week, our students had the opportunity to take part in the IDEA Project, an engaging disability awareness program focused on building understanding, empathy, and inclusion. The experience began with an assembly where students participated in thoughtful discussions and watched an inspiring video featuring children with different abilities accomplishing things others might not expect. The message was clear: while everyone is unique, we all share common ground and can find meaningful ways for everyone to participate. Following Monday’s assembly, students have been rotating through hands-on activity stations that simulate experiences such as sensory processing challenges, communication delays, and physical impairments—helping them gain a deeper appreciation for diverse abilities and encouraging kindness, compassion, and respect that extend beyond the classroom and into the real world.

We encourage families to take a few moments at home to talk with their children about what they learned, what stood out to them, and how these important lessons about understanding and inclusion can be carried into everyday life.
