Due to current and forecasted weather conditions this morning, all Enumclaw School District schools will operate on a two-hour delay out of an abundance of caution. There will be out-of-district transportation. Buses are running on normal routes. Birth to Five TK and ECEAP will run on a two-hour delay. AM ECEAP and AM DVPS are canceled and PM ECEAP will start on time at 12:15 pm and PM DVPS will start on time at 1:00 pm.

Observed annually on the third Monday of January, this year Martin Luther King, Jr. Day falls on Dr. King’s birthday which was January 15, 1929. His influence, impact, and legacy are still felt today as Dr. Martin Luther King’s work continues.

Our early release schedule is cancelled and students will attend school until the regular release time. Our Birth to Five Transitional Kindergarten will also operate on a two-hour delay.
REMINDER: There is no school and all ESD buildings are closed on Monday, January 15, 2024, in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

REMINDER: ESD school buildings are closed for Winter Break from December 20, 2023 - January 2, 2024. School resumes on Wednesday, January 3, 2024. During that time the District Office will be open on December 20, 21, 27, 28, and January 2.
Students and staff are safe. A fire alarm has been triggered in an EHS bathroom. Students and staff have evacuated the building and the Enumclaw Fire Department is responding.
Reminder: All ESD buildings will be closed Thursday, November 23 and Friday, November 24 for Thanksgiving Break. Enjoy the long weekend!

The district has received reports of issues with call quality (static) and dropped calls on our phone lines that are provided by Lumen, formerly known as CenturyLink.
Lumen has responded and is working on our phone lines today. If you are experiencing issues when calling the district office or your school, please try again or send an email. Internal phone calls from building to building or within district buildings are not impacted.
We apologize for the inconvenience and are working with Lumen to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.
The second Monday of October marks the annual celebration of Indigenous Peoples' Day. Today and every day ESD recognizes the traditions, history, culture, resilience, and contributions of Native peoples.
REMINDER: There is no school on Friday, October 13, 2023 for a Teacher Directed Day.
Public Service Announcement:
Beginning at 11:20 a.m. today, it is expected that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will conduct a nationwide test of its Emergency Alert System and Wireless Emergency Alerts. The test will send emergency alert messages and/or sounds to radios, televisions. and consumer cell phones.
While this emergency test has nothing to do with the schools, due to the timing, it may disrupt the classroom environment. We are broadening the reach of FEMA's plan for nationwide testing so that our staff, students, and parents are aware that this test is happening.
All wireless phones should receive the message only once. The following can be expected from the nationwide WEA test:
Beginning at approximately 11:20 a.m., cell towers will broadcast the test for approximately 30 minutes. During this time, WEA-compatible wireless phones that are switched on, within range of an active cell tower, and whose wireless provider participates in WEA, should be capable of receiving the test message.
For consumers, the message that appears on their phones will read: “THIS IS A TEST of the National Wireless Emergency Alert System. No action is needed.”
To help ensure that these alerts are accessible to the entire public, including people with disabilities, the alerts are accompanied by a unique tone and vibration.

10: 11 am: Update: Modified Lockdown Lifted
The Enumclaw Police Department has responded and made contact with the individual named in the threat. They determined the report was unsubstantiated and have notified ESD that there is no threat to our students or staff. EHS is no longer in a modified lockdown and will return to the regularly scheduled school day.

Friday, September 8, 2023; 9:13am: Enumclaw High School is in Modified Lockdown
Enumclaw High School is currently in a modified lockdown due to rumors and reports of a potential threat from an individual not on our campus. During a modified lockdown, no one will be allowed in or out, so meetings at the school may need to be rescheduled. Modified Lockdowns are precautionary. Local law enforcement is responding. We will update families as soon as information is available. Maintaining the safety of students and staff is the priority at this time.
